FAQs about Wendougee

Below are some common questions about Wendougee, and Wendougee products

Why does Vellutto carry Wendougee?

Wendougee builds machines that compete with European prosumer flagships costing two or three times more, and we have used the DATA S, LITA BA, LITA LA, MILO Play, and ARES, and we think it is worth being owned.

What makes Wendougee different from other espresso machine brands?

Wendougee was founded by a working barista and café owner, not just an engineer. This means every design decision is informed by real brewing experience. Their machines combine commercial-grade components (dual boilers, gear pumps, saturated group heads) with smart IoT connectivity via the E-Bar App, at a price point significantly below legacy European brands offering comparable performance.

Can I control my Wendougee machine from my phone?

Yes. The DATA S and LITA connect to the Wendougee E-Bar App via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Through the app you can adjust brew temperature, pre-infusion time, and pressure profiles in real time. You can also save your favourite profiles, download profiles from the global barista community, and share your own.

Does Wendougee come with a warranty in the EU?

Yes. All Wendougee machines and grinders purchased through Vellutto come with a 2-year EU warranty. Vellutto, it also offer pre-sale advice, expert consultation, and full after-sales support. Shipping is fast and fully insured across the EU and EEA.

What is Wendougee and where is it from?

Wendougee is a specialty coffee equipment brand founded in 2014 in Suzhou, China. The original Chinese name is 温豆季 (Wēn dòu jì), which translates to "Warm Bean Session." It was started by a working barista and café owner with the goal of putting pressure profiling, flow control, and commercial-grade internals into a price bracket serious home baristas and small café operators could actually afford.

Production is based at a 13,500 m² facility in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, with an in-house R&D team of around 50 engineers. Wendougee machines and grinders are currently sold across Europe, the UK, North America, and parts of Asia.

Is Wendougee a trustworthy brand? Are they reliable?

Yes. On the Wendougee DATA S for example, the key internals (boilers, pumps, valves, and the Gicar flow meter) are sourced from established European component suppliers. The chassis and assembly are handled in-house at the Wuxi factory, and each machine is pressure-tested before it leaves the production line.

The DATA S supports pressure profiling and live flow control during the shot, which are features usually associated with machines costing several times more. EU units ship with 220–240V / 50Hz electrical specifications, and a 2-year warranty with Vellutto. The hardware for the most part is commercial grade, and the component list is published rather than hidden behind marketing copy, so buyers can verify what's inside the machine before ordering.

Who makes Wendougee machines? Are they really made in China?

Yes. Wendougee machines are designed and manufactured in China by Wuxi Ruike Automation Technology Co., Ltd., based in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. R&D, production, assembly, and quality control are consolidated on a single site rather than outsourced to contract factories.

Being manufactured in China is the reason Wendougee can fit commercial boilers, Italian flow meters, and full pressure and flow profiling into a prosumer price point. The approach is straightforward: fabricate the chassis and do final assembly locally, source the wear-critical internals from Europe, and price the machine on its hardware rather than on a European badge.

Is Wendougee available in Europe and the EU/EEA?

Yes. Wendougee machines and grinders are available across the EU and EEA through Vellutto (vellutto.eu), based in the Netherlands.

Which Wendougee machines and grinders does Vellutto sell?

Vellutto.eu offer carries five Wendougee products: the DATA S dual-boiler with gear-pump pressure profiling, the LITA BA twin-pump flow-profiling machine, the LITA LA (LITA BA plus a dedicated hot water tap), the MILO Play single-dose grinder with servo-motor burr adjustment, and the ARES 90B and ARES 90B DC commercial grinder with grind-by-weight and IoT pairing.

What is the difference between the Wendougee LITA and the DATA S?

The DATA S is the flagship. It uses a commercial gear pump, a 1.8L steam boiler, a 0.8L brew boiler, and supports direct plumb-in. The LITA BA and LITA LA, use two electromagnetic vibratory pumps, share a 0.8L steam boiler, and are tank-only. Choose DATA S for steam power and plumb-in; choose LITA for footprint and price.

What is the difference between the LITA BA and the LITA LA?

The BA and LA are mechanically identical — same dual pumps, same flow profiling, same boilers, same 316L saturated group. The only difference is the dedicated hot water tap on the LA. Pick the LA if you make Americanos or tea regularly and don't want to rinse the steam wand between drinks. Pick the BA if you stick to milk drinks and straight espresso.

What is the difference between the MILO Play and the ARES grinder?

The MILO Play is a single-dose home grinder with 64mm flat burrs, a 400W brushless DC motor, and servo-motor burr-gap adjustment via a 1.28-inch touchscreen with E-bar app integration but not automatic sync. The ARES is the commercial-tier model, with 90mm titanium-coated flat burrs, grind-by-weight to ±0.2g, a 5-inch IoT touchscreen, and AI Smart Inter-Link pairing with the DATA S.

Which Wendougee machine and grinder should I buy together?

For most home setups, pair the DATA S, LITA BA or LITA LA with the MILO Play. The MILO syncs over Bluetooth and stores grind size per saved profile. For the small commercial set up, pair the DATA S , Sdragon with the ARES — its grind-by-weight and AI Smart Inter-Link recalibrate grinder and machine shot by shot, and the sync between the ARES and the Espresso machine would make the workflow effortless.

Are Wendougee machines good for light-roast espresso?

Yes, light roasts are arguably what these machines are built for. The DATA S and The LITA's offer pressure and flow profiling, capped by an adjustable 12 ml/sec needle valve, allowing you to design your pressure profile and curve to the best suits your beans.

How do Wendougee machines compare to Decent, Lelit Bianca, and Rocket?

The DATA S sits between the Decent DE1 and the Lelit Bianca price wise and ahead of both on steam power. It offers similar profiling depth to the Decent with a more conventional saturated-group brew temperature. The Lelit Bianca uses a manual paddle for flow control without app integration. Rocket's R Cinquantotto is a dual-boiler workhorse without programmable profiling at all however Rocket's R nine offer pressure profiling but at much higher price with no max flow control option and less intuitive user interface and no app support.

Do Wendougee machines support pressure profiling, flow profiling, or both?

Both. Every espresso machine in the Wendougee range supports independent pressure and flow priority profiling within the E-bar app. The DATA S uses a commercial gear pump that adjusts in real time to hit either target. The LITA BA and LA use twin electromagnetic vibratory pumps with an Italian Gicar flow meter inline, capped at 12 ml/sec by an adjustable needle valve.

How long does a Wendougee machine take to heat up?

Around 5–10 minutes from cold to brew-ready, significantly faster than most E61 dual boilers that need 20–30. The DATA S quotes under five minutes thanks to dual 2200W heating elements; the LITA range warms in about ten. Allow another two or three minutes after the PID hits target so the group head and portafilter fully stabilise before the first shot.

Can I plumb a Wendougee machine into my water line?

Only the DATA S. It supports direct plumb-in and ships with the connector kit included in the box, switchable to its 1.5L removable tank if you change your setup. The LITA BA and LITA LA are tank-only with a 1.2L removable reservoir and a floating-ball level indicator. Plumb-in is not available on either LITA variant.

What warranty applies to Wendougee equipment bought from Vellutto?

Private buyers get a 2-year warranty on every Wendougee machine and grinder, in line with EU consumer protection law. Commercial customers get a 1-year warranty. so warranty cases are handled by sending replacement parts directly or you, or shipping the machine back if needed.

What is the Wendougee E-bar app?

The E-bar app is the controller for every Wendougee espresso machine. You design pressure and flow profiles graphically, save them per coffee, push them to the machine, and share them with the user community. It also handles firmware updates. E-bar runs on iOS and Android, and the DATA S can be operated through a tablet mounted to the chassis.

Can I connect a scale to my Wendougee machine to brew by weight?

Yes. The DATA S and the LITA pairs over Bluetooth with the BOOKOO Themis Mini scale and stops extraction automatically when the cup hits your target yield. That removes the guesswork from dialling in a new coffee, set a 1:2 ratio at 36g out, and the machine cuts the shot when the scale reads 36g. The LITA range supports the same workflow.

Do Wendougee grinders sync with Wendougee machines?

Yes. The MILO Play pairs over Bluetooth with the LITA and DATA S, storing a different grind setting against each saved espresso profile so your dial-in moves with the recipe. The ARES goes further with AI Smart Inter-Link: machine and grinder share dose targets and diagnostics over Wi-Fi, and a recipe set on one updates the other automatically.

Can I share espresso profiles with other Wendougee owners?

Yes. The E-bar app has a community section where Wendougee owners publish profiles for specific coffees and roasters. You can download a profile, push it to your machine, run it as-is, and tweak from there. It is one of the practical reasons to choose Wendougee over a closed-ecosystem machine — the dial-in shortcut alone saves a lot of beans.

FAQs about WPM

Below are some of are common questions about WPM

What is WPM, and what does the name stand for?

WPM was founded in 2005 with the launch of the KD-210, the brand's first dedicated coffee machine. Equipment is designed and engineered by a Hong Kong-based team, with manufacturing in mainland China — the same supply-chain pattern used by many European and Australian specialty coffee brands. The factory uses solar power and heat recovery in its operations.

Is WPM a respected brand in the specialty coffee world?

Yes. WPM has been the OEM partner behind several well-known specialty grinders, including the Niche Zero. The brand sponsors major competitions like the PCA Latte Art Competition, CTI Latte Art Duel, and Hong Kong Brewer's Cup, and runs more than 50 WPM Coffee Lab experience centres worldwide for barista training and equipment testing.

Which WPM products does Vellutto sell?

Vellutto currently carries three WPM products: the WPM Primus espresso machine with gear-pump pressure profiling, the WPM KONOS single-dose grinder with 71mm Italian conical burrs, and the WPM ZP-1 single-dose grinder with 64mm Italian flat burrs. All three ship fully insured EU-EEA wide with our 2-year private warranty.

What is the WPM Primus, and how does it differ from typical home espresso machines?

The Primus is WPM's flagship prosumer espresso machine. It pairs a commercial gear pump with electronic pressure profiling from 1 to 12 bar and max flow of 10ml/s in 0.1-bar steps control normally reserved for machines costing twice as much. A circular touchscreen built into the group head shows real-time pressure, flow, temperature, and shot timing.

What is the WPM KONOS grinder?

The WPM KONOS is a single-dose espresso grinder built around 71mm Italian-engineered conical burrs, among the largest in its class for a home grinder. It runs at variable speeds from 150 to 420 RPM with a live RPM display, includes a Boost function to clear the chamber, and uses anti-static technology to keep retention near 0.1 grams.

What is the WPM ZP-1 grinder?

The WPM ZP-1 is a single-dose grinder with 64mm Italian flat burrs, stepless adjustment from espresso to French press, and a 300W brushless DC motor running at 600 to 1,300 RPM. Retention is engineered low enough that most users do not need to purge between bean changes. The matte aluminium body comes in black or silver.

What is a gear pump, and why does the Primus use one?

A gear pump moves water using interlocking rotating gears, producing smooth, pulse-free pressure with a service life of 10 years, versus 2 to 3 years for a typical vibration pump. The smoothness is what enables real pressure profiling, holding any pressure between 1 and 12 bar without the pulsing that breaks up extraction.

What is the Primus triple hybrid heating system?

The Primus uses three independent heating elements: a 0.8L boiler, a PID-controlled brew thermoblock, and a dedicated SuperSteam thermoblock. The split lets the machine hold brew temperature within ±1°C while delivering strong steam from a separate circuit. Heat-up is around 3 to 5 minutes, considerably faster than conventional dual-boiler machines that need 20 to 30mins.

Can the WPM Primus brew and steam at the same time?

Yes. The dedicated SuperSteam thermoblock runs independently of the brew circuit, so you can pull a shot and steam milk simultaneously without either function losing pressure or temperature. That capability is normally exclusive to true dual-boiler machines, which start at roughly twice the Primus's price point.

How does the WPM Primus compare to the Lelit Bianca V3?

Both sit around the same price. The Primus uses a gear pump with electronic pressure profiling in 0.1-bar steps and onboard recipe storage; the Bianca V3 uses a rotary pump with a manual paddle on an E61 group head. The Primus heats up in 3 to 5 minutes versus the Bianca's 20 to 30.

How does the WPM KONOS compare to the Niche Zero?

Both are single-dose conical-burr grinders, and WPM is actually the OEM that builds the Niche Zero. The KONOS uses larger 71mm burrs (versus 63mm on the Niche), adds variable RPM with a live display, includes a Boost function, and ships with anti-static technology built in.

How does the WPM ZP-1 compare to the Lagom P64?

Both run 64mm Italian flat burrs with stepless adjustment and ultra-low retention. The ZP-1 is a brushless-DC motor design priced at roughly half the cost of the Lagom P64.

KONOS or ZP-1 — which WPM grinder should I choose?

Pick the KONOS if you grind primarily for espresso and prefer the body and sweetness that conical burrs produce. Pick the ZP-1 if you brew across espresso, pour-over, and French press from the same grinder, the flat burrs and full stepless range cover all three brew methods cleanly. The ZP-1 offer burr change possible Sability, if you would like to upgrade to SSP or LeBrew burrs in the future.

Are WPM PRIMUS Espresso machines plumbable?

Yes. The Primus ships with a 1.5L removable water tank and supports direct plumb-in to a mains water line for permanent installation. Switching between tank and plumb-in is straightforward.

What warranty applies to WPM equipment from Vellutto?

Private buyers get a 2-year warranty on every WPM machine and grinder, in line with EU consumer protection law. Commercial customers get a 1-year warranty. so warranty cases are handled by sending replacement parts directly or you, or shipping the machine back if needed.

Do I need to create an account to place an order?

No. Guest checkout is available for every order — enter your shipping address, payment details, and email, and you are done. Creating an account does help if you plan to order again, want to save shipping addresses, or need to track multiple machines or grinders over time. Account creation is free and takes about 30 seconds.

Can I place a business order with a VAT invoice?

Yes. At checkout, expand the company details section and enter your business name and VAT number. We validate the number through VIES, the EU's VAT validation database, and apply reverse-charge VAT for valid intra-EU business buyers in line with EU tax regulations. The VAT invoice arrives by email along with your order confirmation.

How do I apply a discount code or bundle offer?

Enter the discount code in the box just above the order total at checkout, then click Apply. Bundle discounts — espresso machine plus grinder plus accessories — apply automatically when both qualifying items are in your cart, no code required. Only one discount code can be used per order, and bundles cannot stack with general promo codes.

When will I receive my order confirmation email?

Within a few minutes of placing the order. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder first — confirmation emails can sometimes get filtered. If it is still missing after an hour, email info@vellutto.eu with your name and the approximate time of order, and we will resend it manually. The order is safely placed regardless of email delivery.

How do I track my order?

You'll receive a tracking email the moment the courier picks up your package, usually within 1–2 business days of ordering. The link in the email goes directly to the carrier's tracking page. For larger items shipped by pallet, the freight carrier sends a separate confirmation with their own tracking system, plus a phone or email contact to schedule the delivery window.

For genuinely wrong items or shortages, we ship the correct item the next business day at no cost.

How do I return my order?

Email info@vellutto.eu within 14 days of delivery to start a return. We send a return authorization with shipping instructions. Pack the product in its original box with all accessories, foam inserts, and protective materials. For machines and grinders, the original packaging is essential — without it, we can't insure the return shipment, and damage in transit would not be covered. the product should not be used, and in case of espresso machine machines the boilers should not be filled with water, in case grinders it should not have a grinded coffee.
